“Twenty years after” (almost) could be the title of this issue devoted to Russia. Russia remains a vast and complex political entity, and it is not easy to take an accurate measurement of internal Russian geopolitics. So what about the nationalist movements in this vast federation? Is it done with secessionist movements? To these internal geopolitical issues must now be added external ones, since former socialist republics became independent states without erasing the legacy of the former empire. How should current Russian geopolitics be analyzed, and should Russia be seen as a threat to Europe?
