<br/><br/> As a new figure in the political landscape, Éric Zemmour had to build an electorate by bringing together voters with different sociological and ideological convictions. A geographical analysis shows the outlines of this composite electorate. While he clearly attracted some Le Pen voters, this was mainly the case along the Mediterranean coast, while Le Pen traditional strongholds in the north and east of France remained relatively immune to Zemmour’s policies. Alongside traditional Le Pen voters from the south, the polemist managed to gain some conservative upper middle class voters, which gave him good results in western Paris and some resort towns. Overall, the election results show that the Reconquête ! party leader achieved a kind of union of right wing voters, but on a small scale, and among the most radical segments. Zemmour rise will remain a further symptom of the breakdown and rebuilding of the French electoral landscape that began in 2017.
