Mathematics as they developed from 1935 to 1970 play a very important role in La Méthode. This role is explicit in the field of logic, but less so in the area of control theory, uncertainty and other concepts viewed from outside the field of mathematics and probabilistics in particular (entropy, information, uncertainty). Using an example from recent work on mathematical logic, the correspondence of Curry-Howard and the works of Jean-Louis Krivine show the relevance of Edgar Morin’s ideas and intuitions on logic, reality and the human brain.
