<br/><br/> The communicational approach that developed in the twentieth century was applied to analyze and understand the role and the function of documents. The logic they obeyed was then threefold: they were centripetal, accessibility and the physical realm. The twenty-first century brought new perspectives, with documents considered from cognitive and anthropological angles, in which they are basically seen as a space and a pretext for communication.
