<br/><br/> Words play tricks on us, so it is vital to re-establish their etymological geohistory before specifying how they have come to be used. A lexicon provides a convenient way of clarifying the meaning of terms that can become so associated with one another that they are incorrectly considered to be synonymous. Once established, such a lexicon makes it possible to provide definitions of “communication,” “incommunication,” and “acommunication,” even if we know that the technique itself seems to facilitate communication…. What if this terminological triad is really a pair (communication/incommunication) into which an interloper of another sort altogether (acommunication) has intruded?
