<br/><br/> There are two ways of talking about “post-heroic” society. The first is typical of a pacifism that believes wars are a thing of the past. The second sees the race for technological innovation as a means of setting mankind free from the human condition. The reality of military concerns obliges us to ask the question of the purpose of military action, over and beyond any consideration of its performance.
