Thinking about the psychological issues relating to prostitution in certain teenagers leads us to recognize a problem of prostitution that is characterized by staging and acting out. This may involve masochistic behavior, repetition of roles played, and a narcissistic quest. Through the practice of prostitution, young people reveal their physical intimacy, but avoid exposure of a lack which, nevertheless, they wish to relieve. Faced with complications in the instigation of the subjectivation process necessary for that creation of self that is adolescence, prostitution would then be related to an attempted solution.
