Schizoid condition and simple melancholia: Discrete psychoses
- 2017.

Over the past two hundred years there have been many attempts to come to terms with clinical situations in which a clear-cut case for psychosis is difficult to make. We present a number of clinical cases followed by an analysis of the clinical signs present in them. We propose a provisional definition of the schizoid position and of simple melancholia based on the sense of the impossible, the nature of being, the mirror sign, and Chaslin’s notion of discordance.
