<br/><br/> After recalling how professionals have moved from the concept of the nourrisson (infant) to that of the bébé (baby), the author then examines the issue of “the fundamental anthropological situation,” as developed by Jean Laplanche, which corresponds to the psychological component of human neoteny. Anthropologists are then asked three questions as an open conclusion, with regard to the cultural treatment of neoteny, socialization, and the sexual aspect in child development.
