<br/><br/> Created in 1945, l’Union nationale des associations familiales (UNAF) (National Union of Family Associations) has a statutory monopoly on representing the 18 million families living in France. This institution is unique in Europe, as France is the only EU country to have made the family a category for political action. Despite changing family models and declining government interest in the family, it has so far managed to maintain its status.
