Education: Growth Factor or Catalyst for Development?
- 2005.

The international community generally agrees on the essential role played training and education in the development process. However, conflicts do arise, for example, over values and knowledge transmitted, tensions between universalism and singularities, and unequal access to schooling according to socioeconomic status in different countries. We note important international asymmetries between developed countries, emerging countries, and poor countries caught in underdevelopment traps. This paper will first deal with the impact of education on economic growth and second with the multidimensional effects of education on development.
