Determinants encouraging general practitioners to settle in under-dense areas

The worsening inequalities in access to care, particularly in areas described as “medical deserts,” is a major public health problem that no policy has succeeded in curbing. How can we encourage young doctors to settle in under-dense areas? What solutions should we consider? To provide some answers, we conducted a quantitative study among doctors recently settled in these areas and attempted to identify the main determinants that influenced their decision to live there.
