TY - BOOK AU - Montalieu,Thierry TI - Emerging countries viewed through the lens of rating activities PY - 2019///. N1 - 43 N2 - The concepts of emergence and risk may appear to be worlds apart, but in fact they have some logical convergences, for instance the way in which they offer typologies that enable analysts and policymakers to compare experiences and political economies of developing countries. This was demonstrated once again in the context of recurrent financial crises, when principles such as the sustainability and credibility of economic strategies rose up in the development debate. Some basic statistical tools (charts and simple correlations) are used to display ranking and classification and to understand possible outliers in the relationship between emergence and risk.
