TY - BOOK AU - Berr,Éric TI - Power and domination in development policies: Evidence from Latin America PY - 2019///. N1 - 65 N2 - Understanding the reasons that led Latin American countries to implement “Washington Consensus” policies and then try to free themselves from them requires a thorough analysis of the concept of power. Thus, using the work of John Kenneth Galbraith, Kenneth Boulding, and Steven Lukes, we offer a typology of power relations emphasizing the notion of domination. Thus, we show that the ambition to build a neoclassical economy apparently free of power relations leads to results that poorly conceal the desire to dominate of the prescribers of such economic policies.
