PY - 2024///. N1 - 61 N2 - The objective of this paper is to assess the effect of trade openness on economic growth. Using a panel of five countries from the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CAEMC), we examine three trade openness measures over the period 1995 to 2017: the real ratio, the adjusted ratio, and the composite trade ratio. The results show a positive correlation between economic growth and the real trade ratio on the one hand, and between economic growth and the adjusted and composite ratios on the other. These countries therefore have an interest in further intensifying their trade and particularly trade flows related to export diversification.
