N2  - Located next to Lens, Loos-en-Gohelle has opened itself to cultural events since the closure of mines. The mine has now been transformed into territorial patrimony, as a source of pride to transmit history and generate tourist revenues. This conservation effort was recognized by UNESCO in 2012. A new common culture is blossoming on the mining site itself, and the municipality is transforming the landscape into a laboratory devoted to ecological development to inspire other territories
