- 2019.

This article on agreement will study the ԑmokr or process of peace and reconciliation through mediation among the Adioukrou of Côte-d’Ivoire. The interest of this article lies in the functioning and insight of this peace process, based partly on a linguistic dimension. Among the Adioukrou, the right and wrong of every dispute are shared but, in order to maintain unity, the ԑmokr goes further, turning yesterday’s adversaries into rediscovered brothers. This is achieved through a language with many atypical features. A linguistic-enunciative approach will focus on all the language categories deployed during ԑmokr rituals, with the use of particular words and expressions, proverbs, songs, and stories all playing a fundamental role.
