Beginning with Jerome who emphasizes the value of the veritas hebraica, the article seeks to ascertain whether the Talmud and rabbinical literature may have benefitted from the Bible’s Greek tradition. The rabbinical adage “The Torah speaks the language of men” is authenticated.
