Gestational Surrogacy: A Case Study
- 2015.
9
In Belgium, gestational surrogacy is not illegal, but some rules must be respected and the law grants maternal affiliation to the surrogate mother (Gallus, 2009). All receiving parents in our study excepting one (Cailleau, 2011-2012) respected these principles. For Ariane, who was one of the subjects in this research, surrendering the right to be the legal mother of her child was an impossible step and could only be resolved through transgression of the law. Through the following clinical case study, this article presents how the transgressive elements appear during encounters and in the testing session of the tat and Imaginary Genogram.
