<br/><br/> Turkey already belongs to Europe as far as trade and geo-strategic considerations are concerned. The electoral campaign preceding the referendum on the constitutional treaty, in which fear was systematically used as an argument, illustrated both the bad faith and ignorance of political leaders on this point. Yet our cynical interest dictates that Turkey become an ally of Europe, as a “bridge” toward both the Arab-Muslim world and Asia.
