Spatial structuring of professional mobilizations
- 2020.
37
Based on the comparison of three sectors of activity – agriculture, factory work and artistic work – this article examines how professional mobilizations fall within regimes of territoriality. By comparing actors occupying variable places in the social space but also within their professional group (stabilized / precarious fractions, self-employed / employees, volume of economic and cultural capital, etc.), this contribution examines and analyses the constraints and opportunities exerted by professional structuring on the dynamics of spatialization of mobilizations. In doing so, it documents the variable possibilities available to workers to make their workplaces the support for mobilizations, to spatially export their cause in extra-professional spaces and, finally, to symbolically recode their activity in enlarged territories.
