<br/><br/> The subject has at least two meanings: continuity and rupture between theory and clinical practice. For the first, the author analyses briefly the therapist’s theory and its consequences on his clinical understanding. Then he presents a theory of narcissism in the therapeutic process and the way it can contribute to the understanding of continuity and rupture in the therapeutic relationship. The subject matter is illustrated through a number of clinical vignettes.
