Co-parenting: A Key Concept in Assessing Familial Functioning

<br/><br/> After discussing the history of the concept of co-parenting, generally defined as the mutual support parents give each other in their roles as parents, this paper presents a short literature review that reveals the links between co-parenting and other aspects of family functioning. A few clinical cases are provided in order to illustrate the variations between families. Lastly, the usefulness of the concept of co-parenting is discussed for the purposes of research or clinical practice.
