The Case of Family Therapy in an Institution: An Evolutive Process
- 2012.
31
Through their pathologies, psychiatric patients question their relation to the world, their group, family, or society. Their relations to others are profoundly remodeled in fertile moments, but also around them, inside their psyches and their realities. Different caregivers have to treat the patient’s interiorized paternal figures, but also the real family when they are available and participate in the patient’s evolutive process. Through the clinical case of a young schizophrenic girl, this paper describes working between many teams in an approach involving individual treatment, family therapy, and a series of stays at a day hospital.
