The Venetian printing industry from the end of the fifteenth century to the beginning of the sixteenth century is a good case study to observe the competition between a number of actors, with no regulation of their activity. However, these actors had to collaborate in the context of this capital-intensive activity. This situation led to the formation of social and economic niches, where the trust required for collaboration could be restored. But it also led to oligopolistic phenomena.
