<br/><br/> Of the three phases of European construction since 1945, the last, which incorporated some former Eastern Bloc countries, has run into difficulty because of the proposed integration model that aimed at erasing a number of national aspects. The disarray rising from this, which has led to rising electoral populism, means there is a need to react in order to avoid this difficulty turning into a complete failure.
