Nature in the city: A trompe-l’œil reconciliation - 2019.

Initiatives to reintroduce nature in cities are flourishing at different scales (political, citizen) and from different perspectives (food, biodiversity). Does this evolution symbolize a more global reconciliation between our society and nature? This article attempts to show the complexity of the various forms of interaction between city and nature, in the sense that this question cannot be considered outside the dependencies and effects of the city on nature near and far. In the frame of of the globalized capitalist model, nature is ultimately destined to be mobilized, controlled and exhibited for social purposes, to impose or criticize the dominant model. While keeping its own dynamic, which escapes human control, including in the city.
