The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) are generally governed according to rules set by the military bureaucracy. Nevertheless, agility and reactivity are needed when facing unconventional situations during a crisis. The LAF have learned to adapt - notably at the time of the explosion in the port of Beirut in 2020 and during the economic crisis which followed.
