<br/><br/> The links between the quality of the franchise relationship and franchise performance has generated more than 40 empirical contributions between 2009 and 2020. Based on a triptych describing the franchise relationship as “a contractual relationship, a business relationship and an intuitu personae relationship”, we propose a narrative synthesis of this corpus. The contribution is twofold: to give meaning to this literature and to propose a series of research perspectives.
