N1 - 69 N2 - Irène Théry’s report on « Filiation, Origins and Parenthood » advocates a single filiation through three different modes : carnal procreation, adoption or medically assisted reproduction involving sperm donation. The present essay considers the content and context of her proposals. To evaluate the evolution of parental rights, the article first examines three anthropological markers such as the connection between fecundity and sexuality, the role of the third party in the original relationship and the bedrock of masculinity and femininity. Finally, several behaviours – celebrating life as a gift from God, the emergence of virtual families in the United States and a model of recomposed families – are offered as a counterpoint to the report in order to assess the social and symbolic mooring of families as well as the child’s needs and interests UR - https://shs.cairn.info/journal-revue-d-ethique-et-de-theologie-morale-2015-1-page-13?lang=en&redirect-ssocas=7080 ER -
