<br/><br/> At the time of the Second Vatican Council, reflection on charity was situated in a legalistic perspective focused on terms of what was permitted and what was forbidden. This vision would be progressively overcome in the succeeding decades with the emergency of a charity-relation that develops on the basis of the relational dynamics of the Trinity. This approach locates human existence in a perspective of ethical growth implemented primarily through ethical discernment.
