<br/><br/> The purpose of this contribution is to return to the theoretical role of the economic valuation of innovative medicines within the framework of the regulation of the pharmaceutical market based on patent protection for innovations. After a review of the incentive mechanisms of patent market regulation, the role of economic evaluation in this regulatory framework is clarified. The specific context of fixing prices for medicine in France and the role of economic evaluation are studied at the end of the article.
