Life events: A comparison of surveys on complexity of administrative procedures in France and Germany

<br/><br/> The life-events surveys of citizens analyse the perceived complexity of administrative procedures in France and Germany and form part of the governmental simplification efforts. For 2018/19, the results indicate a similar perception: in France, 25 % of the citizens considered them complicated and 28 % in Germany. However, the life events concerning tax return, birth of a child, financial problems, job loss and the procedures regarding vehicles lead to an elevated difference. Thus, the surveys offer a useful method and benchmark to identify best practices.
