The analytic situation was characterised by an extreme and traumatic disorganisation of temporality, representative activity and affects. The subsequent invalidity of this prognosis revealed a resonance between a medical and infantile position of omnipotence in both doctor and patient, and the risk of assuming a position of omnipotence on part of the psychoanalyst. It was only after the trauma had been worked through that a link with infantile sexuality could be established
