N2  - Freud’s theory of sexuality should be resituated in the spirit of the Darwinian epic : the libido serves the survival of the species. The libido initially appears to be directed at the object with a conflict between preservation of the species and preservation of the individual. Subsequently, Freud considers a libidinal cathexis of the ego to be possible and introduces the concept of narcissism. Finally, the essential conflict shifts and is situated between the life force and the death force. A patient’s history suggests that autism in its hard core is a lack of empathy and positive self-cathexis. The gaze of others is crucially important for everyone, especially for transsexuals
