The Fixation on the Infantile, Incompleteness or Perversion? - 2015.

13

The path of psychic elaboration can sometimes be blocked by traumatic fixations during the process of constructing the component fantasies of the Oedipus complex. The resulting incompleteness leaves largely unelaborated traces that are discharged in acting out. Starting from these traces, revisiting Freud’s actual neuroses can provide a stimulus for completing the psychoanalytic nosology, including addiction, impulsive acting out and perversion. Through the clinical treatment of a perverse behaviour and the analysis of early traumatic experiences, the idea of incompleteness of the fantasy in perverse acting out, which features in Seulin’s work, will then define the boundaries of the image and representation.
