The Sexual, the Fantasy and Masoch?sm - 2015.

27

The constitution of the sexual and the emergence of fantasy are the products of repression. Having undergone repression, the drive returns in the ego in the mode of fantasy. Thus, fantasy becomes an object of the drive, accounting for auto-erotism. The internalised sexual excitation becomes effractive and creates psychic pain as a result of the binding by primary masochism. Here the author tries to link Freud (1924) and Laplanche to show that the repression of the drive is a condition of the constitution of the sexual and the masochistic fantasy.
