The persistence of a comforter in the adult invites us to explore the register of sen-sation insofar as it serves as a sleeping aid and provokes a singular and regressive “oceanic-like” state. Contact with the fabric does seem to favour the emergence of very primitive forms of sensation and to make it possible to return to the lost terrirories of the maternal realm.
