<br/><br/> Bringing together the notions of transitionality and sublimation leads one to compare the pairs illusion/disillusion and sexualization/desexualization as well as to examine the relationship between orthodoxy and transgression in the analytic situation. In the light of a clinical case it appears that transitionality and sublimation may be considered as complementary conditions on the condition that their reference to infantile sexuality is preserved.
