Parental Educational Involvement, Self-Esteem, and Mobilizing College Students in Their Studies - 2013.

19

This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived parental involvement on the mobilizing college students to pursue their studies and the potential mediating role of self-esteem. We used a quantitative approach including the completing and statistical validation of a number of scales on a sample of 405 high-school students. This allowed us to test our hypothesis using linear regression analysis. The results support the general assumption that self-esteem has mediating effects on the relationship between parental involvement and school mobilization.
