<br/><br/> This paper discusses the many interactions between linguistic spaces in an attempt to clarify their meaning, origin, role, and interconnections. After considering the advent of new signifiers, including the "X-phone" linguistic groupings, as well as their signifieds in an attempt to uncover the challenges they conceal, the paper analyzes from a geopolitical standpoint the recent developments of a number of linguistic and cultural shared spaces.
