N1 - 3 N2 - Using Hobfoll's (1989) theory of resource conservation as a theoretical anchor, this research aims to study the impact of working conditions, defined in terms of demands and resources, on occupational stress caused by the work-leisure conflict. A study was conducted among 648 customer-facing employees in the hospitality industry in France. The results of the analysis of indirect effects based on bootstrap analysis (Preacher and Hayes 2004) using 5,000 replications with a 95% confidence interval, reveal that the work-leisure conflict has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between psychological demands, overtime, social support from the supervisor, and psychological stress. Similarly, these results demonstrate that the work-leisure conflict fully mediates the relationship between physical load and psychological stress. However, the results also show that the social support of colleagues directly influences stress.
