N2  - Dualism is not widespread in the philosophy of the mind today. It mostly boils down to Descartes’ dualism, whose weaknesses make for easy criticism. Nevertheless, another classic closer to us defends a dualism different from Descartes': Bergson. One of the most interesting features in Bergson’s dualism is that it comes along with a relatively precise conception of matter, which fits current physics well enough. In comparison, contemporary physicalism seems to be indifferent to the question of the nature of matter, and appears to be paradoxically remote from physics
