This paper presents the case of a family in which the religious difference among its members constitutes the central block to establishing the taboos of death and incest. Religious asceticism satisfies the negative ego ideal. The incestuous seduction, the delirium, and the transvestism of one of its members make the group face its transgenerational history tainted by death, opulence, and misery.
