N2  - In this paper, we provide a conceptual structure for incorporating spirituality into economics, based on a connection between a Hegelian conception of society and identity and the model of the economies of worth. The conceptual structure is applied to collective action problems in order to provide a rationale for the effectiveness of communication in addressing such problems in the civic world, and its inefficacy in solving them in economic (civil) life. Finally, we show in the theoretical contribution that a spiritual assumption on individuals can solve these problems. JEL Classification Codes: H41, P41, Q00, Z12, Z13
