N2  - The purpose of this article is to analyze public management of the so-called coronavirus pandemic. We use a qualitative cost/benefit analysis, ignoring pathos, to ask whether the strict health measures imposed aligned with the disease’s severity. Was it reasonable to create general panic among the population via anxiety-inducing official announcements, or to jeopardize the delicate economic balance of the entire planet?
