Vocational Indecision and Return to School - 2009.

92

This paper is about men and women with dependent children who decide to return to school after several years in the job market. Specifically, the elements involved in this decision are closely examined by situating them within a dynamic, comprehensive approach that takes into account educational, professional, family, and personal factors. This reveals that vocational indecisions during initial studies are an important consideration in the interpretation of educational and career paths. Data originate from an empirical, qualitative study based on the narrative history method conducted from 2002 to 2004 in Quebec.
