Superheroes’ narratives used to follow the evolvement of comic books in the late 30’s. This new product needs the combination and the reinvention of a large field of visual codes which aren’t proper to this new medium. Starting with specific images, we find out a visual universe built with multiplicity and “intermediality”. Otherwise comics’ images would only be studied in purpose to ratify established knowledges, instead of informing us about the society producing and consuming them.
