Fashion and Urban Area: Identity and Territoriality from the Perspective of Bar Culture
- 2009.

A study of the city of Recife, Brazil examined how the language of fashion relates to an area and how this relation is observable in the urban space. Findings showed that some spaces concentrate on certain styles and trends, consumption, and language that serve as references to the sociocultural identification of small groups. These places characterize fragments of the city, “territorialities” which can be a district, a public space, or a meeting place.
