N1 - 10 N2 - In family therapy with single-parent families, the therapist suggests to the children to create a totem, inspired by the famous totem poles erected by the Haïdas, one of the native people of Alaska. The child may use animals’ figures to represent the ancestors. This experience introduces a symbolic dimension of intergenerational relationships. The result of this technique seems encouraging.
